President's Report

Welcome to the new version of The Beacon. This may take a couple of issues to work out the kinks and get used to the new system, but I figure there is no time like the present.  I hope that everyone is enjoying these last few days of summer...I am loving the reduced humidity, but not a fan of the getting dark earlier.

I want to use this newsletter to bring to your attention a few things about the Chapter and our events. First, if you haven't been yet, please visit our new website (the address is the same www.apmp-ne.org, but the look and feel is new and fresh).  Look around and feel free to offer suggestions for what you would like to see.  There is a new member's only area and I am currently working to upload all the content we have so it is available to you.  Expect to see this completed in the coming weeks.

Second, we are going to be hosting our first event of the fall, a dinner and discussion about proposal metrics and improving your proposal successes. This will be on October 18th so join us for the dinner and stay for the discussion!!  Details can be found on both the home page and the events page!!

Third, we have some open positions on the Board of Directors and are looking for Nor'easters who are eager to join the team.  Please reach (mike.walsh@ey.com) out if you are interested and we can talk about expectations and commitments and I can answer any other questions you might have.

Finally, as we mentioned in the Spring, we will NOT be hosting our annual Proposal Expo this Fall.  We decided that with APMP bringing Bid & Proposal Con to Boston in May we would not offer the Proposal Expo and compete with Bid & Proposal Con.  We apologize to those who enjoy the Fall Event, but stay tuned as we will have exciting news about the 2017 Proposal Expo coming soon!!

I hope you like the new site and want to help lead the chapter by joining the board.  As always...

Do great things,

Mike
