Spring has Sprung Print

President's Report

Well, I can honestly say, I have no idea where the beginning of this year went. All I know is that I didn't have to shovel too much, things are warming up, and flowers are starting to bloom. I want to share with you some of the exciting events that the Nor'easters Chapter has coming up this spring and more information about the upcoming Pursuit Expo 2017 this November.

First, APMP is hosting a webinar on April 19th from 1-2 PM on the topic of Elevating Your Position in the IndustyRFP and proposal teams often suffer from an image issue. Attend this webinar to hear from APMP and take away 3-5 practical things that you can do to elevate your position within your organization as well as the industry. This Webinar is free to APMP members. Click here for more information and how to register.

Second, the Nor'easters have once again joined forces with the Boston chapters of the Society for Marketing Professionals Services (SMPS) and the Legal Marketing Association (LMA) to offer our 3rd annual Executive Insights panel discussion. This year we will once again meet at the offices of Nutter, McClaren & Fish overlooking Boston Harbor in the city's Seaport District. Our panelist will discuss how clients have a more empowered buyer experience than ever before and as a result the importance of strategic engagement. Check out our upcoming events page for details and to register.  This event has been very well attended for the past two years and we look forward to seeing you there again this year.

Finally, as you may have seen on our homepage, the planning for Pursuit Expo 2017 is in full swing.  Early bird registration is open, I encourage you to register today and take advantage of the favorable pricing.  We are very excited about our Keynote speaker Stephen Shedletzky. He comes to us from Simon Sinek's team at Start with Why  (www.startwithwhy.com), and will talk with us about how to clarify our own personal Why—that driving purpose, cause or belief—and leverage it for unbelievable success in all aspects of your life.

In addition to our excitement over our keynote speaker, abstracts are coming in and we are working through the process of putting together an outstanding line up of presenters and discussion during the day. If you are interested in speaking, there is still time to submit an abstract. Details on how to submit an abstract can be found here, but hurry time is running out.  Those who have been to a Nor'easters Expo before will recognize the mutliple offerings, extended breaks for networking and visiting sponsors, and our closing reception complete with amazing prizes that rounds out the day. This year, the day before Pursuit Expo 2017 we are offering both Foundation Level Certification and the Practitoner Level quick start workshop. If you have been thinking about getting or advancing your certification...November 8th is a great day to do it. Additional details and information on how to register will be coming to you soon.

APMP's flagship Bid & Proposal Con is heading to the Big Easy this year and while topping the convention in Boston last year is going to be tough (maybe a little hometown pride here) New Orleans is bound to give us a run for our money.  I will be traveling to New Orleans this June and look forward to catching up with any Nor'easters who are attending this year, please drop me a note at mike.walsh@ey.com and I will try to get us all together for a little fun in NOLA.

For those who just celebrated, I hope that you had a nice Passover with your family and friends and to those who will celebrate, I wish you all a Happy Easter...it looks like we are in for some beautiful weather this weekend and I sincerely hope that all your proposals grant you the opportunity to enjoy the weekend.

Be outstanding,

Mike
